To understand reality

The discussion between right and wrong, and light and dark is necessary to understand in order to bring peace. First of all; Love is not the only ingredient in man, there is also the shadow, the evil in man. So, to make a world where love reigns, we have to understand the evil in man, to live with the shadow.

A good example of evil in Denmark, is the abduction of little girls into marriage with islamic supremacists. The girls are from fourteen to eighteen years old, and therefor not able to use reason.

The way it happens is simple and corrupt. The little girls are enticed by promises and gifts, but after marriage they have to adhere under the strict laws of Islam. They cannot and are punished.

The punishment are often severe, in extreme cases torture and death.

What is wrong here? Several things; the lack of respect for the girls from the islamic parents, the seduction of the young boys, the immorality of the girls, the lack of tutelage of the girls parents. All combines into a situation where all come to grief.

The only answer to the problem is that the islamic culture should respect the simple argument that children are not to be married before at least the year of eighteen, because such a decision demands a free reasonable being. The parents of the girls should rebuild the morality of the girls, so that it is not accepted to do what you like before you are at the age of your reason. Normally this would not be needed, but in a situation with such problems, severe traditions are to be upheld.

Lastly of all; the state should stop glorifying Islam. Young girls do what is popular, and if they continually hear about the “glorious civilisation of Islam”, with no real truth in the story, they will believe it, and go with the flow.

The state has one obligation in relation to religions; that is to enlighten, tell the truth, be honest. If that was the case, no problem would occur.

Dear Asger. Evil Does Not Exist – Only Stupidity. Satan Does Not Exist – Only Ego. Some erroneously old beliefs and religious discombobulations hold to a dualistic system of good versus evil. It is the belief that there is only one force of goodness (God) and only one force of badness (Satan). In between are humans who are little more than pawns on a big chessboard for these two equally opposing forces to battle over. Throughout history, this belief system has been held by millions and millions of people. But new research and testimonies are giving us much better insights into whether such theological and philosophical concepts are actually valid. Near Dead Experiences and testimonies offer us a much more realistic and logical solution to the classical paradox concerning “the problem of evil.” What the religious traditions of the world perceive to be “sins,” NDE testimonies reveal to be “mistakes” which God allows humans to make for the purposes of their higher education and spiritual evolution. What these religious traditions perceive to be “evil,” NDE testimonies reveal to be “ignorance.” What humans perceive as “the devil made me do it,” NDE testimony reveals to be “our own ego and negative thought process.” The following insights reveal the true nature of human failings.
Mistakes are an acceptable part of being human. We are here to make all the mistakes we want because it is through our mistakes that we learn. As long as we try to do what we know to be right, we will be on the right path. If we make a mistake, we should fully recognize it as a mistake, then put it behind us and simply try not to make the same mistake again. The important thing is to try our best, keep our standards of goodness and truth, and not compromise them to win people’s approval. God loves us just the way we are, warts and all. When we make a mistake, we should ask for forgiveness. After that, it would be an insult if we don’t accept that we are forgiven. We shouldn’t continue going around with a sense of guilt, and we should try not to repeat our mistakes. We should learn from our mistakes. God wants us to do what we want to do. That means making choices – and there isn’t necessarily any right choice. There are a spectrum of possibilities, and we should make the best choice from those possibilities. If we do that, we will receive help from the Other Side.
There really is no sin as it is known in the world. The only thing that has any meaning in the spirit world is what we think. The very core of our being is perfect love and light. There is no evil in any human soul. It is the lack of love that distorts people. We are designed by God to self-correct, just like the rest of the universe. No one is lost because everyone is already saved. The more we exercise our individual consciousness and free will for self-interest, self-gratification, self-centeredness, and self-consciousness, the more we heightened our sense of self apart from the Whole. This separation of self from the Whole is what people call “sin”. The greatest enemy we can face is ourselves. Hell refers to levels of negative thought-forms that reside in close proximity to the Earth realm. It is where we go to work out, or remain within, our hang-ups, addictions, fears, guilt, angers, rage, regrets, self-pity, arrogance, or whatever else blocks us from the power of our own light. We stay in hell (and there are many divisions to this vibratory level) for however long best serves our development. There is no condemnation here, only the outworking of our own misjudgements, mistakes, misalignments, and misappropriations – what some people call “sin”. Negative thought vibrations comes out of ignorance. High vibrations indicate love and spiritual development, while low vibrations indicate debasement and evil.” Evil and the devil do not exist. What people consider evil is really ignorance. 🙂

Perhaps to help you understand my scripples better read this. As we (Souls) prepare for our own birth the choices are many, one life we may choose to be Muslim to experience that culture, in the next life we may choose to be an atheist or a Jew, Hindi, Buddhist or Christian, to experiences each cultures values and distractions. Sometimes we choose to be rich powerful and other times poor and confused, sometimes we are intellectual giants, at other times fools. We need the total variety of experiences to learn how to love unselfishly. Added to this your karmic accountability are making havoc as well. Insights revealed shows we come here and choose to forget our higher knowledge so we can learn more effectively and faster due to the limitations that only a physical body can achieve. We choose to forget so we can focus more on physical reality and complete our missions in life better. We choose to forget because we don’t want to be so heavenly minded that we are no earthly good. If we retained all of our prior knowledge, we may try to avoid the pain, thereby avoiding any gain. We choose to forget so that we can make decisions out of free will without being completely influenced by our higher knowledge. Any other way would be equivalent to a student being given the answers before taking a test. It is not a good way to learn. We choose to forget because it allows us to make mistakes out of free will for the purpose of learning and growing. Forgetting our higher knowledge helps us to appreciate, benefit, and learn all we can from our physical life through re-discovering this higher knowledge – now in physical ways. Through forgetting our higher knowledge, we can understand physical life better by re-discovering how to return to God. And re-discovering these things is not enough. We must incorporate and embody this knowledge into our daily activities. It helps us to make an effort to remember these things and re-discover our true selves as spiritual beings and that our spirits are one with God. We forget our higher knowledge so that we are able to succeed as normal human beings advancing our spirits. If we retained all our pre-birth knowledge, we would seem abnormal to the rest of society. But souls do assume bodies that are retarded or crippled because they have decided to assume some of this higher knowledge in order to teach those around them lessons in love. We forget who we are because we want to do everything humanly possible to fulfil our missions for humanity and God. We forget these things so we can make the most of the human experience for ourselves and God. We are spirits having a human experience. When we return to spirit, everyone benefits from our human experience. We also forget who were are to prevent unpleasant and harmful past-life memories from completely influencing our lives. Imagine having a past-life memory of being Adolf Hitler. Such a past-life memory would make it very difficult to function with these memories and would seriously impede the opportunities to correct the past-life mistakes of being Hitler. We forget because we want to help God create a human heaven on Earth which only humans can build with the help of the spirit of unconditional love. To enter a baby’s body, we had to take a vow not to remember anything. Then it had to pass through a grey misty-looking curtain or vail. The reason is for us to learn more effectively and faster. The most important reason for us coming to Earth is to either learn or teach. Most times both. All the bad things we go through here is either for our own learning or someone else’s. Humans have a mental and spirit body which is very little understood. Before going through the veil, we chose our own physical body. We must forget these memories because in order to experience a physical life, we must experience the physical things, be physically challenged, make choices of free will, and make mistakes so that we can learn from them in ways that only a physical life could impart. The reason we need to experience a separation of our total reality when we took on a physical body is because in order for us to appreciate, benefit, and learn all we can from our physical life, we must re-discover what we knew before – in physical ways. Through our physical life we must discover how to return to God. By the good that we do to each other here, by the ways we improve our minds, and by the ways that we learn to cope with a physical body and physical life, we earn our right of safe passage back to God; and in doing so, we honour God. It is God’s love that sends us on the journey and it is our love for God that will allow us to return to God’s loving arms. When planning our life before birth, we do not deal with the details. Instead, we have before us our relationships to others and to situations. But some people have squandered their opportunities to such a degree that they are not completely free in their choices. We have chosen to forget most of our knowledge in order to come to Earth and have human experiences. According to information obtained from the human experience with the universe in the realms of science, religion, metaphysics, and near-death experiences, the universe is waiting right now for us to open our eyes and see the answer that will help us attain our goals on the River of Life. From what I can gather, the story resembles a modified version of the parable of the prodigal son who left his father to experience life on his own and to discover new worlds. As a soul, we come to this world to have a life experience as a human being. Everyone has been doing this for millions of years. We are bringing God into this garden called Earth. We are bringing light into darkness and peace into chaos. We come to help our loved ones within our soul group and humanity in general evolve and learn lessons that only a human experience can give. Millions of years of ago, the human experience began when souls, like pilgrims and prodigals, began exploring the universe. We came to Earth and began influencing and eventually inhabiting the bodies of a particular species of humanoid. Through evolution we influenced these creatures to come out of the trees create societies. Throughout the course of human evolution, as a soul, we could come here and have a human experience, fulfil whatever mission we came to do, then death would free us to return as a soul back to where we came from which is our true home in non-physical realms. Living in this world is analogous to experiencing on-the-job training. We come here to attain growth as a soul (an individualized aspect of spirit). As a spirit, we are already perfectly one with God. But with every human body and life we experienced on Earth over the millennia, we create a different soul body to be the vehicle for our spirit as it experiences the world in the vehicle of a human body. At the physical level, our body is intellectual conscious. At the soul level, our mind is subconscious. At the spirit level, we are Universal Conscious. We are multi-dimensional and exist in three different worlds at the same time. There are many abodes and many dimensions. We are working our way back up “Jacob’s ladder” of success toward the goal of perfected individuality as a soul to go along with our already perfect Wholeness as a spirit. We are evolving into an individualized version of the Whole which is “God” consciousness. As a human being, we seem like such a small creation in an infinite universe, but this is really only an illusion. As individuals, we are the human and soul part of God. We are extensions of thought in the Mind of God (the collective Whole). We are bringing this higher Universal Consciousness into this tiny world called Earth while at the same time we are developing individual consciousness. We are the Mind of God becoming human. We are the body, mind and spirit of God evolving into a perfect individual-divine unity. We have examples of this human-divine unity in the lives of Melchizedek, Krishna, Jesus, Buddha and others. The goal in human evolution is for us to attain a human-divine consciousness which can overcome the limitations of the body, walk on water if we choose, or even live forever on this planet as a human if we choose to. We are powerful spiritual beings with a oneness of the Whole and the wholeness of the One. On a higher level, we are gods, just as the Bible said. This is another way of saying we are “godlings” or “children.” We are growing up to be like our Parents. The core of our being, our spirit, is perfect love and perfect “God consciousness.” We travel this River of Life to bring the “kingdom of God” to this world. Creation is God exploring God’s Self through every way imaginable, in an on-going, infinite exploration through every one of us. Through every piece of hair on your head, through every leaf on every tree, through every atom, God is exploring God’s Self. The interesting point was that God is not there. God is here. That’s what it is all about. So this constant search of the human race to go out and find God … God gave everything to us, everything is here – this is where it’s at. And what we are into now is God’s exploration of God through us. People are so busy trying to become God that they ought to realize that we are already God and God is becoming us. That’s what it is really about. In this expanded state, creation is about absolute pure consciousness, or God, coming into the experience of life as we know it. Our life in this world is a preparation for a fuller, freer and richer spirit world. It can be compared to life in the womb being a preparation for a fuller, freer and richer existence in the physical world. Everyone who passes through this world must learn their final lessons in this world, where our free will is called into play in a fashion different from existence in other realms of reality. If we choose to clean up the mess we create on Earth, we will not contribute to the mess of others and this will contribute to the healing of the Earth. Reincarnation is the process which allows us to return to Earth to “clean up our mess.” Everyone’s gain or loss affects everyone else to some degree because we are all connected. In order to return to God we have to come to ourselves and realize that our lower nature is leading us down the road of materialism and of living only for ourselves. This causes us to turn away from God and our divine destiny. This caused us to forget who we are and it caused our spiritual death. A relatively small number of people, are permitted to retain vivid pre-birth memories when they are born. As such people grow older, they usually forget these memories. Some people are inspired by their day-to-day life experience to remember past-life memories. Such as I am. Some has very compelling circumstantial evidence identifying them as a particular individual in history. People can also recover past-life memories through such means as near-death experiences, hypnosis, meditation, hallucinogens, and dreams, just to name a few. The decision to be born into this physical world is not an easy one. Our souls left a world of total wisdom, where they exist in a blissful state of freedom, for the physical and mental demands of a physical body. The rejuvenation of our energy and personal assessment of our soul takes longer for some souls than others, but eventually the soul is motivated to start the process of being born. While our spiritual environment is hard to leave, as souls we also remember the physical pleasures of life on Earth with fondness and even nostalgia. We feel the pull of having a physical expression for our identity. Training sessions with our counsellors and peer groups have provided a collaborative spiritual effort to prepare us for life in the flesh. Our soul’s takes action based upon three primary decisions: Am I ready for a new physical life? What specific lessons do I want to undertake to advance my learning and development? Where should I go, and who shall I be in my life for the best opportunity to work on my goals? Once the decision has been made, we are directed to the place of life selection. We then consider when and where we want to go on Earth before making a decision on who we will be in life. We then entered a heavenly building which resembles a movie theatre to allow us to see ourselves in the future, playing different roles in various settings. In this place of life selection, our souls preview the life span of more than one human being within the same time cycle. When we leave this area, most souls are inclined toward one leading candidate presented to us for soul occupation. However, our spiritual advisors give us ample opportunity to reflect upon all we have seen in the future before making a final decision. After we completed our consultations with guides and peers about the many physical and psychological ramifications of entering the physical realm, the decision to come was made. Afterward, we underwent a significant amount of preparation in a place called something like the recognition class. This heavenly class is where we prepare ourselves for entry into the physical realm in a manner that is similar to cramming for a final exam. One of the last requirements before being born is that we went before the Council of Elders. The Elders reinforce the significance of our goals for life. Once we were ready for entering the physical realm, we were like battle-hardened veterans girding ourselves for combat. This was our last chance for us to enjoy the omniscience of knowing just who we are before we adapt to a physical body. We are given teachings, training, and anything we need to help us prepare for entering the physical realm. We choose our own pace and need not be hurried through the realms of the next dimensions. It may take what might feel like eons of time before our soul knows what is best for our development while in the flesh. As part of our training, we are allowed to watch people on Earth to see how they handle all their situations in life. There is absolutely no privacy anywhere on earth. When we are ready, we can choose to be shown our past lives. If we don’t understand reincarnation it may take a long period of time before we are able to deal with this. Reviewing our past lives helps us recognize all the strengths we have built and all the karmic debts we have created which must be dissolved. After integrating the knowledge learned from our past lives, we have reached a state of total objectivity. We feel no remorse or condemnation, but see it as merely a review of why situations occurred and had to be worked through. When we made the decision to enter the physical realm for soul growth, we first planned with the members of our soul family the karmic considerations because our relationship with them is vital to what we desired to accomplish in earthly life. There was a vast amount of planning that was done before we were born. When planning for entering into the physical realm, we do not have physical details before us. Instead we have before us relationships to others, to situations, and to those forces which have prepared us. God not only prepares us to do his will, he also gives us all that we need to do it. He sends to our path the right people when we need them, whether we realize it or not. In our decision-making process about the life we currently lead, we dealt largely with two factors: We worked with our motivation for entering, then with the potential we had for entering.
And, The rest was left for the great adventure of life. The purpose for our Earth lives includes the opportunity to pay and receive karmic debts from family members. We plan to connect once again with members of our soul family on Earth because of our love for them. The fact that we are born here shows that we are on the path to developing an individual consciousness. Ultimately, we will find God within ourselves because this is our true identity. Our missions mainly have to do with love, but the purpose of life is also to experience joy, gain spiritual understanding and self-awareness, play with the joyful abandon of a child, absorb ourselves in the delight of each moment, let go of obligation and duty, and live for the pure joy of being. 🙂

    Dear Rex 🙂
I do understand all your points, and I do support them in all the ways I possibly can. You are right, the way to true enlightenment and joy is through the realization of the spirit we hold inside us.

But I, sadly, do not accept the claim that there is no evil in the world. It is there, when you have faced it, you know the reality of it. I think a very important skill as a person is to understand a somehow fight the evil where it is.

You could of cause call evil egoism, but unfortunately I think it is a bit deeper than that. The classic explanation is that evil resides in matter, when we eat the apple of visdom we are thrown out of the garden of Eden. This perhaps refers to the story of Isis and the myth that she came from the celestial realm and was dragged down into the material world.

If you follow Anaxagoras this does not make sense, how can we be trapped by matter? Perhaps in egoism, as you say yourself.

Then there is, however the very basic question; if G-d is intelligence we all swin around in, does this natural force then have a structure? Perhaps there is actually a structure to the intelligence, and what we describe as fights between heavenly powers; fallen angels and so on are real fights that has been fought and are still fought in the celestial realm.

This is only speculations you cannot prove, Anaxagoras was always very careful not to claim anything he could not prove, so it will remain speculation.

But if you look at nature, perhaps the answer is there? I mean, according to theory, nature is only a reflection of spirit. If we look at nature, it most consequently give us a hint as to how the spiritual realm is structured.

I am sorry, but I think it is important to look at how things are in the world if we want to give out advice as to how we believe it should be run.

    Yours 🙂
    Asger

    My friend Asger.
God is not intelligence, (Forstaaelse). He is Universal Consciousness (Dyb eller total bevisthed), and the difference is like night and day. Intelligence is for ever increasing as unawareness decrease. Every time we do anything, even stupid things, we learn from it, and as we move around in the world to see and experience more and more and learn, hence intelligence is incremental and always lagging totality, and therefore can forever increase. Which means it is never perfect. We simply cannot get more stupid that we already are, we can only get smarter. God is not in that position, he is omniscient, (All knowing Truth), omnipresent (Loving) and omnipotent (the powerful life-force), and has been from the very beginning of time. Intelligence is mortal, and Consciousness is immortal. Intelligence is just physical brain cell manipulations, spiders, snakes and primates enjoy. On the other hand Consciousness is of the Soul, and is more like intuition and hunches and our free will inclinations, which is God given.
God was hoping for Loving companions and co-creators when we were “Created”. Souls did not have intelligence before they entered the physical world and began to use primates for certain experiences, they had Consciousness. The physical world was needed for Souls to enter and have a separated and limited intelligence, and it always is, (Limited Recall or memory), for the purpose to learn to Love and have compassion. (The Golden Rule-The Law of God). The problem is that many people do not understand that they are Souls. Many still see themselves as primates descending from apes. They simply don’t know what they really are, and until they do, how can they get anything right in their lives? However there is a short-cut. By living by the Golden Rule…. “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you”. That is your ticket to heaven. Basically just be a really nice person all the time, to everybody. When you leave your body and it dies, and it will for sure, then there is no intelligence left, it gets eaten by worms, and the individual Soul Consciousness which is you, will then have to face the music your flawed primate intelligence has composed while your body was still alive.
Evil???? Well, let me tell you. IF PEOPLE KNEW BETTER THEY WOULD DO BETTER. Hence ignorance it the only and real problem, and when people have no love in their actions and thoughts, and feel totally separated from others, they do things to other people that is called evil. Hence, there is no evil, only ignorance and stupidity. When you don’t know better you are stupid, and you do things that are against the laws of God and hurt other people, that is what is called evil. If ignorance was painful, things would be different, trust me. Evil cannot reside in matter, matter is dumb. Intelligence is a natural force, yes. It has a structure (brain cells), but Consciousness is metaphysical in substance, in that, you cannot weigh and measure it.
The heavenly fights you mentioned are lore. In the spirit world everything is working according to the laws, as it should. All religions have made a perversion out of that story. The question you ask, if I can prove it? Well reason is one of the greatest powers on earth. And what you cannot weigh and measure (the physical world and intelligence) you can reason with to come to conclusions. Then again, you can also increase your conscious awareness and just know. The fun part is how do we do that? 🙂

To help you figure it out, It may be easier for you to understand Universal Consciousness, if you first understand separate consciousness. Then you will at least understand what Universal Consciousness IS NOT. And you will be able to ‘relate’ more to, and understand, separate consciousness – because that is what you have right now. Let’s begin with one of the fundamental effects of Separate consciousness, a person’s individual, separate, ‘point of view’.“ We’ve all heard phrases like, ‘From where I sit ….’, or ‘Walk a mile in my shoes…’, etc.. These are all common references to the significance of having separate and different points of view. A person’s ‘point of view’ can mean two things: 1) It can mean what it literally says – the ‘point’ from which a person ‘sees’ things. 2) It can mean a person’s opinion. A person’s opinion is based on a combination of #1, and the person’s programmed beliefs. Let’s first look closer at #1, the ‘point’ aspect. Most individuals have a limited point of view dictated by the very fact that they are separate individuals. They are each seeing things from a different place, a different point, literally. And they see only from their separate individual ‘place’. There are as many ‘places’ that a person will see from as there are persons. And the trouble is, seeing from only one ‘place’ doesn’t allow seeing a ‘whole picture’, or a ‘big picture’. Here’s a mediocre allegory that will help illustrate the point, using a modern frame of reference you are familiar with. Let’s say there is a classic car in a parking lot. The car is badly damaged on one side, but looks like new on the other. Two people going through the parking lot, walk by the car, one on each side. One person’s point of view is from the bad side, one from the good. As they walk by, they each see the car, make a judgment, and form ‘clear’, solid beliefs about the condition of the car. Because of their limited viewpoints, they are each left with totally different beliefs about the car. And each person’s belief opposes and contradicts the other. One believes that the car is in impeccable classic condition, and very valuable. To the other person, the car is in such bad shape they couldn’t even tell it was a classic – it just looks like an old junk car to them. And that’s what that person believes the car is – an old junker. They are both right, from their point of view. Yet if you could see the entire car from above, from the universal conscious point of view, they are both totally right and both totally wrong. How can they both be right, when each viewpoint would seem to make the other wrong, or impossible to be true? And how can they both be wrong, when they are obviously both right from their point of view? The fact is that when you simultaneously grasp the two contradictory, yet true, beliefs, you actually have the greater truth about the car. This predicament of having two truths, each of which seem to make it impossible for the other to be true, is a crude sort of paradox. And a paradox is the closest thing you can get to real truth, or whole truth, intellectually on the Earth plane. This example shows us how we can see the whole truth if we get above and beyond each individual’s point of view. Only then can we see the ‘whole’ picture. From the lofty point of view above this illustration, we have the combined points of view, and can see that while the car is a classic, it would need a lot of work to put it in show condition. And while we see the damage, we also see that it is a classic, and not just some piece of junk to have hauled away. This example, of course, is not one of even seeing things with Universal Consciousness – seeing from a ‘Universally broad’ point of view. But as the damaged car allegory demonstrates in a small way, having a point of view that is as broad as possible allows us to better perceive reality, to see more truth. A broad point of view can help us better understand others, better understand the world, and ultimately the entire Universe around us. If our point of view is broad enough, it lets us better understand other points of view – then we can more easily communicate or interact with others, and they can more easily communicate with us. For instance, just like the people viewing that car, the point of view of each individual reading the ancient texts, or any book, is going to be different, thus they will perceive it many different ways, thus it will be perceived differently than it really is, and differently than it was intended to be perceived. The broader the reader’s point of view, the more they will perceive what is really written (within limits). But still, it will affect the subconscious, and the inner being in each reader. And it may affect the consciousness of those with fertile ground for the seeds. Yet, it goes both ways. When we talk about the state of a person’s ‘consciousness’, we are essentially talking about the state of their ‘awareness’ of the world around them. And as such, a person’s consciousness is directly related to the way they view, interpret, understand, and interact with, everyone and everything around them. A person’s point of view is affected by both the state of their ‘consciousness’, and their beliefs and ‘programming’. Beliefs and programming are usually in sync with a person’s level of consciousness. However, consciousness is dominant, and if there is a shift to a higher or lower state, the new consciousness can alter and override a person’s beliefs and programming in order to match the new level of consciousness. Let me explain more about Separate consciousness, so you can understand it better. Every human being is obviously an individual ‘self’. And most people are both ‘conscious’ that they are an individual self, and believe that their individual self is separate from other people, and everything else in the Universe. Thus, people generally have ‘separate self-consciousness’, and live their lives based on this consciousness. So please understand, it is ‘self’ consciousness that creates the separate consciousness. In regards to a point of view, having separate self-consciousness, means having a point of view that is limited to seeing things from only one ‘place’ – the ‘place’ where the separate self ‘is at’. This can mean seeing things from an actual physical point of view that is limited to just the place where the person is located, such as in the car allegory. Or it can also mean seeing things from a point of view that’s limited by the person’s beliefs, and programming. In any case, the point of view is very limited and the perspective is ‘narrow’, when a person has separate self-consciousness. There are varying degrees of ‘narrow’ mindedness of course, but even the most broad point of view that comes from just one person with separate self-consciousness, must be limited and incomplete, because it is a view that is still from only one place, only from that one separate self. Thus, it is a point of view that will have limited understanding. And if a person has such limited understanding, what kind of thoughts are they limited to? And if their thoughts are from such limited perception and understanding, what kind of action will they take regarding other people, and the world around them? For the answer to that, just look around at the world. All problems spring forth from this. Separate self-consciousness, because of its limitations and narrow mindedness, ‘boxes’ its perceptions of the world into ‘pieces’ that are extensions of its self. Everything in your immediate world becomes an extension of you, of your separate self. For instance, there is your neighborhood, your town, your county, your state, your country, your part of the world, your religion. Because the separate self relates to these as extensions of itself, most people support their country, for instance, just because it is their country. Sure, they come up with ‘reasons’ why their country is the best or most important. But the problem is, many people believe that their country is ‘It’, ‘the best’, the ‘most important’, the ‘most right’, regardless of any reason to think so or not. And by so doing, they care less about other countries, and the people of those other countries. And if everyone’s country is the best, who’s right? They can’t all be right. This phenomenon is even worse when it comes to a person’s outlook about their religion. Many people think theirs is the only right religion, and thus the only one that will provide salvation for anyone else. And many of these people actually hate other religions, and their practitioners. When there is more than one religion claiming to be ‘THE’ only right one, it creates a question of who’s right and who’s wrong, and the dilemma of choosing the right one, or facing the consequences of having chosen the ‘wrong’ one (not getting into heaven, going to hell, etc.). But getting back to the idea of everyone thinking their country is the best, consider this: what country ever went into battle without ‘God on their side’? In WWII, all sides believed God was on their side, including the Nazis. What country starts a war thinking that they’re in the wrong? All of these perceptions and beliefs originate from separate selves and the territories they consider extensions of them-selves. Most everyone favours not just their country, but ALL the extensions of their separate selves – they favour their race, favour their ethnic group, favour their school, favour their local team, favour their political party, etc., etc.. But a precious few people have begun to expand their self-consciousness to include ‘bigger pictures’. Take, for example, those who have become so environmentally conscious that they are ‘environmentally active’. Those who have achieved that, understand the importance of the flow and balance of nature on Earth. They know that saving whales and forests, or seemingly insignificant things, such as tiny birds, fish, or ferns, can seriously alter life in ways that most people don’t even suspect. Many of those who are truly environmentally conscious, have transcended some of their separate consciousness, and thus some of their self-centeredness, and self-fishness. Thus preserving the integrity of the environment is more important to them than many of the conveniences or inconveniences (recycling, power usage, etc., etc.) involved. To have reverence for all life, and also be able to see the importance and potential affect of the lives of whales, and tiny fish, and a seemingly insignificant fern, is higher consciousness. But it still falls far short of Universal Consciousness, and the efforts of such people can be a total waste of time, or even harmful, without it. The human race barely cares about people let alone plants and animals. I remember once seeing a breaking news story about 600,000 people who died in an Earthquake. It was in the L.A. Times. You would expect such a disaster to be on the front page. And be a long article. But it was only one small paragraph, about 40 words, buried on page 9. And the only reason why was because the quake was in China. Even then, I was shocked. Can you imagine how this article would have been treated if 600,000 French people had died? English? American?” (Of course, this was during a time when the U.S. was an enemy of China. The story now, would be bigger news at least, if for no other reason than because there would be 600,000 less Chinese consumers of American products). And those with separate self-consciousness will defend their views with twisted logic. Some people will say ‘So what if I think my country is the most important? It’s good to have national pride. It doesn’t change anything about any other country; it just helps this one be better.’ If you don’t think that such an attitude has no effect on other countries, consider the atrocities that one country will often inflict on another. Or that a country will stand by and allow to happen to the citizens of one country, but not in another. Imagine invading soldiers regularly using bayonets to cut babies out of the wombs of 9 month pregnant women in the street, for purposes of genocide. That happens. But as long as it only happens in countries that other countries don’t care about, no one cares. As things are, such things are nearly never reported in the news media of the world. What if it was going on in Chicago? England, France, Mexico? Do you think we would not even be hearing about it? If ALL the churches in Britain were being destroyed by invading armies, and the priests tortured, would it not get on the news? It would not only get on the news, but many countries would send troops over there to stop it in an instant. How’s that for national pride? What national pride? It all depends on what our separate selves consider ‘extensions’ or relations of themselves, or have selfish stake in. Some people have begun to transcend ‘pride of country, again, this is good, but it does not go far enough. So few have a truly global feeling of family, but there are some who do. But even environmental and humanitarian consciousness is still limited, and a person could accidentally cause terrible disasters acting from limited perception, even if their intention was only to help. All these expansions of consciousness are steps toward the ultimate expansive and caring consciousness, Universal Consciousness. But they are still all variations of separate self-consciousness – limited by so many constraints, and ultimately mistake ridden and destructive. Oh, how many tears have been shed in the wake of things gone wrong, and the cry is echoed ‘But I was only trying to help’. The fact is, all things in the Universe are essentially made of the same ‘stuff’, and are totally interdependent and connected. So we cannot be truly separate from the rest of the Universe, we can only be a ‘part’ of it all (‘apart’). But we can think we are separate. We can believe we are separate. And then we act like we are separate. Having separate self-consciousness doesn’t mean you are really separate, but it does mean having a total ‘illusion’ of separateness from everyone and everything else in the Universe. And when a person truly believes they are separate, they naturally focus on themselves. And when someone believes they are separate, and they focus their attention, and their energy, on their ‘self’, this naturally leads to ‘self’-fishness. This is very important my friend, pay close attention. This is the BIG issue. The Big problem of all problems. The only REAL problem. As silly and simple as it sounds, it is serious – simple selfishness is the root of all problems and ‘evils’ that exist on Earth. This is one of the greatest, most important teachings to understand, so I say it again. Selfishness is the root of all problems and ‘evils’ that exist on Earth. And let me tell you, how this selfishness come to exist? Where there is such separate consciousness as humans have, everyone perceives everyone else in an ‘us and them’, and a ‘me against the world’ fashion. When this occurs, which it naturally must with separateness, there will naturally be attempts to get, or take, from others, and keep others from getting what you have. It is perfectly natural, and in its own warped way, logical. And where does it all leave us? Where there is separateness and selfishness, there will be strife, discord, injustice, taking from others, harm to other beings, creatures, the environment, etc.. So when someone says something about the problems of the world being from political parties, or greed, or money, or war, or lust, or vanity, or carelessness, or whatever, what do you say? That they are only branches. The root of all problems, all evil, all suffering, is selfishness. And why is there selfishness and thus all these evils? Because it is the natural outcome of separate self-consciousness – of thinking you are separate from the Universe, and thus all things in existence. And so what is the only cure for evil, suffering, and all problems? Losing separate consciousness and selfishness by regaining consciousness of our Oneness with everything. Universal Consciousness. And how can one regain Universal Consciousness? Through Unselfish Love, self-sacrifice, caring, giving, seeing the illusions of self-consciousness that we carry with us in our mind, and breaking them. Please don’t let the teachings that promote Oneness be misunderstood as promoting a ‘one world religion or government’ where oneness and peace are enforced by human rule or dogma. Nothing could be further from what we mean to convey. We are first of all proponents of freedom, and free will. I’m talking about an internal way of being, a consciousness, that includes sensitivity, compassion, and freedom – and caring about all people, creatures, all creation, as much as you do about yourself. We are not saying that all governments are bad? No. Just incomplete, and that they won’t ever solve all the problems, or work properly unless people themselves change inside. Certainly, some governments are formed just to wield power for an elite group over the people. But sometimes governments are formed to administer, and insure justice between all the separate beings it controls, but no form of government can really ‘work’, or last, when separate consciousness exists. Why? Because the people running the government have the same separate consciousness, and when they get power, you see the worst of selfishness, and they can appeal to the selfishness in the populace, to get what they want. When you stop and think about these things it is easier to understand why we teach that only when all people have Universal Consciousness, and everyone is primarily governed from within by the Universal Spirit, will there ever be peace & harmony, and freedom from tyranny on Earth, and the Earth is just one speck of dust, within an incredibly greater scheme of things. Outside of the Earth, the entire Universe functions in a beautiful, orderly, harmonious flow. On Earth, humans with separate self-consciousness, are the only things that are out of step with the flow of nature, and the Universe. And the results of this have been in disharmony, disruption, and destruction. That’s why the teachings promote the attainment of “Universal Consciousness”, by any means that works for you. 🙂
