Virtue

In the works of Søren Kierkegaard, the Danish philosopher, it is claimed, that there are three steps of development available to man; first the realm of materialism and needs, then ethics and in the end the realm of spirit.

Kierkegaard talks about forgiveness, due to the fact, that we, as human beings are not perfect, and therefore we need to accept that the imperfectness of our ethical behavior in order to really connect to spirit.

Well, if you continue this line of thought, you could say, that ethics and spirit are two realms interconnected. And if you realize, that G-d is love, then it reflects back on ethics. Because if G-d is love, then how does ethics work to reach G-d, that is love?

The Danish philosopher Knud Ejler Løgstrup, claims that ethics is the guardian of three psychological traits of man; openness, trust and love.

So, if we combine these ideas, we can see, that we reach the conclusion, that ethics is the path to love.

G-d bless the truth of love and virtue.
